WMP11 won't play any DVD now, neither Audio or Video, so it's not just CD's affected. Tried using InterActual Player (something I never use), and it said: 'Playback failed due to an error with the audio subsystem. Please ensure the sound card is properly installed or close any applications that may use the sound card.' MISCELLANEOUS NOTES: Mentioned I did Win updates recently, about 15 of them. Also added SP3 to Office 2003. Uninstalled Win DVD today, an older version.also Click to DVD, a burning program from Sony (came w/ the laptop). Uninstalled DV Gate Plus, Norton System Works 2005, Jukebox, Mood Logic, and Quicken 2005 in past 2 days. I've been using Registry Mechanic periodically and think last time was 1 week ago when some of all this was done. DirectX v9.0c installed. This afternoon I downloaded updates from Sony, including firmware for the CD-DVD. Still no help. Check properties in Device Manager and it says 'everything's working properly.' Could this be a Codec issue? Not familiar with them at all. I'M STYMIED, AND ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED. Thanks in advance! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edited by NorCal_Mike, 06 October 2007 - 01:34 AM.
